The Backwoods Expedition 85 is an ultralight single-seater inflatable touring kayak. The Backwoods Expedition 85 tracks straight and feature plenty of space for paddler and gear. The boat has been designed for outdoor hard-core adventures, for mountain lake use and flowing rivers. It is geared toward paddlers where lightweight and ease of set up are most import factors for when choosing their gear.

The Backwoods Expedition 85’s compact size takes up minimal room in motorhomes, campervans, or car/SUV/4×4 boots; great for all car camping adventures. When your adventure involves paddling longer distances, the Expedition 85 is the premium choice of lightweight kayaks that focus on space and exceptional comfort; with a 300-pound capacity for paddler and gear.

The large side tubes improve stability and along with the open cockpit make it easy for dry entry and exit. The Expedition 85 features an I-beam constructed floor that aids flotation and performance. For improved tracking, a fin is included. The boat is made from TPU nylon, and laminated, which is an extremely durable material along with excellent abrasion resistant; creates a very rigid kayak when inflated.

The bow features a bungee system for securing gear or a paddle. Paddle holders on the side tube, will hold a paddle when the paddler comes to a rest on the lake, while the padded seated and padded backrest offers all-day comfort. The seat can be removed and positioned to anywhere in boat for tailored comfort. MOLLE plates inside the boat makes it easy to organise and secure tools and well as clip-in storage pouches.

The boot comes with a foot-pump to be used for inflation of the this kayak. Also, the kayak comes with a storage bag that doubles as a dry bag when on the water. The bag packs down to a volume of a sleeping bag which means you can carry the kayak within your hiking/trekking rucksack.
